This may seem obvious, but you should always bundle up before using your snow plow. Besides just ensuring that you’ll stay comfortable, keeping warm will also make it easier to focus on the task at hand. With more of your focus on what you’re doing, you’ll have a much easier time avoiding mistakes. If it’s actively snowing, then you likely won’t be able to see as far as you normally could. Don’t be afraid to go a little slower than you normally would, and use your lights to make yourself more visible to others. 

Motorist Tips

Chances are good you won’t be the only one using a snow plow in the area. Whenever you encounter a snowplow on the road, slow down and give them a bit of extra space. This safety cushion can go a long way towards keeping both of you safe. If the street you’re on doesn’t have a lot of extra room, consider pulling over until the other snowplow can pass.
